What Do Ultrasonic Transducers Do?

There are two basic types of transducers; piezoelectric (a.k.a. electrostrictive) or magnetostrictive, but their function is the same. They are excited by electric current provided by the ultrasonic cleaner's generator to vibrate at ultrasonic frequencies that cause the bottom (and sides as the case can also be) of the tank to vibrate and thus serve as a membrane.
