Personal-Care Small Appliance Heads: Shavers, Clippers & Trimmers
Challenge
A personal-care appliance service center refurbished electric shavers, hair clippers and beard trimmers. Foil heads trapped shaving gel and skin oil; clipper cutter bars carried hair grease and styling product; trimmer attachments held dust and balm in hinge slots. Manual wipe-and-solvent could not reach behind foil frames, under cutter guidance surfaces or inside pivot holes. Warm baths were unwanted because some plastic housings, rubber seals and bonded heads were heat-sensitive.
Solution
The center installed an ACMESONIC Ultrasonic Cleaner with no heating module: SUS304 benchtop tank, 40 kHz for general foil/cutter cleaning and 28 kHz for heavier clipper grease, adjustable power, degas mode for fresh aqueous detergent and semi mode for delicate foil screens and plastic-attached heads. Heads were removed from housings, placed in dedicated baskets, and cleaned in neutral aqueous solution at ambient temperature.
Outcome
Foil apertures, cutter bars and pivot holes cleaned uniformly without disassembling fragile screens. Shaving gel, skin oil and clipper grease were removed faster than manual wipe-and-soak. No heater warm-up and no heat exposure for plastic/rubber parts; solvent volume dropped, improving bench safety.
