Dental Implant Components & Orthodontic Small Attachments
Challenge
A dental lab and clinic reprocessing station handled titanium implant abutments, healing caps, orthodontic brackets, molar bands, ligature hooks and small instrument tips. Residual diamond-polishing paste, aluminum-oxide blasting dust, light blood film, bonding adhesive and gypsum particles lodged in abutment indexing grooves, bracket mesh bases and band occlusal surfaces. Manual brushing scratched polished titanium and left paste inside mesh; any warmed bath was undesirable for bonded brackets, elastomer modules and adhesive-bearing temp parts before validated sterilization.
Solution
The station installed an ACMESONIC Ultrasonic Cleaner with no heating module: SUS316L small bench tank, 40 kHz for abutments/brackets/bands, 68 kHz for micro-mesh bracket bases and fine instrument tips, adjustable power, degas mode for fresh filtered enzymatic/aqueous solution and semi mode for adhesive-bearing and elastomer-adjacent items. Abutments were placed in upright index racks, brackets in mesh-base trays, and bands on dedicated mandrels. The ultrasonic step was defined strictly as pre-clean before approved rinse and sterilization.
Outcome
Polishing paste, blast dust and bracket-mesh residue removed uniformly without titanium surface scratch. Abutment indexing grooves and band margins decontaminated before sterilization audit. No heater warm-up and no thermal risk for bonded brackets/elastomers; pre-clean consistency improved while manual rebrush time dropped.
