Bicycle Precision Hardware — Disc Rotors, Derailleur Pulleys, Freehubs & Caliper Pistons
Challenge: A high-end bicycle service center removed chain lube, road grit, old grease, anti-seize and minor brake-fluid traces from stainless disc rotors, jockey wheels, freehub bodies, cassette spacers and caliper pistons. Heated degreaser could warp thin rotors, dull anodizing and harden rubber contaminants; solvent affected bearing grease.
Solution: ACMESONIC Ultrasonic Cleaner, SUS304/SUS316L, no heater. 28 kHz for heavy grease on cassette spacers and pulley clusters, 40 kHz for rotors, freehubs and hose fittings, 68 kHz for caliper piston bores and laser rotor slots, degas mode for bicycle-grade aqueous degreaser, semi mode for anodized rotors and freehub shells. Rotors vertical, pulleys in jockey racks, freehubs in V-cradles with pawls removed.
Outcome: Rotor laser slots, jockey-tooth roots and freehub pawl seats de-greased without brush scratches; anodized parts protected in semi mode; rebuild time shortened.
