Challenge

A UAV maintenance and integration center overhauled aluminum and steel motor end bells, carbon-compatible propeller hubs, CNC arm brackets, gimbal yaw/pitch brackets, RF shield cans and connector backshells. Parts arrived with machining oil, anodizing seal residue, squeezed-out thread-locker, carbon-fiber dust, thermal-paste traces and light solder flux. Manual wiping left carbon dust in magnet cavities and flux inside RF seams; heated baths risked changing anodized finishes, bonded encoder magnets, nylon inserts and thread-locker cure states.

Solution

The center adopted ACMESONIC Ultrasonic Cleaner units without heating: SUS304 primary, optional SUS316L for corrosive-process rinses, 28 kHz for heavy adhesive/carbon, 40 kHz for anodized brackets, 68 kHz for RF shield seams, adjustable power, degas mode and semi mode for encoder-adjacent and plastic-insert assemblies. Motors were mounted upright with rotors removed, prop hubs placed in indexed fixtures and RF cans laid face-up in shallow trays.

Outcome

Thread-locker squeeze, carbon dust and machining oil removed from motor magnet cavities and hub threads without disassembly damage. Anodized brackets and RF shield seams de-fluxed with no heat-induced color or adhesive change. Encoder-adjacent and plastic-insert parts cleaned safely in semi mode; repeatable ambient recipes shortened overhaul time versus manual solvent wipe.
