The Challenge
Tattoo and permanent-makeup studios operate under strict hygiene protocols. After a session, reusable grips, needle cartridges, tips, tubes and tubing carry dried ink, blood traces, lymphatic fluid and microscopic tissue debris deep inside narrow lumens and threaded connections. Wiping and rinsing by hand cannot reliably reach these internal passages, and sending visibly contaminated items directly to the autoclave risks cross-contamination, compromised sterilization cycles and non-compliance with local health authority inspections. Studio owners needed a validated pre-cleaning step that removed all organic residue before instruments entered the sterilizer.
The Solution
Each studio installed a compact ACMESONIC Ultrasonic Cleaner at the decontamination station. Disassembled grips, cartridges and small parts are placed in a perforated basket and immersed in a hospital-grade enzymatic solution, then cleaned at 40 kHz and 45u00b0C for a 7-minute cycle. The cavitation reaches inside every lumen, thread and crevice that brushes cannot, lifting ink and biological residue into suspension. A built-in degas mode first removes dissolved gases to maximize cavitation force. After the cycle, a clean water rinse and a short dry precede transfer to the autoclave. The digital timer locks the process so every technician follows the same verified recipe.
The Outcome
Post-cleaning ATP and protein-residue tests consistently return negligible readings, confirming that all organic material is removed before sterilization. The studios eliminated the risk of tissue or ink drying onto instruments overnight, reduced the labor burden on artists, and documented a repeatable hygiene chain that satisfies health-department audits. Client confidence has grown visibly, and the pre-sterilization step has become a standard, traceable part of every studio's infection-control routine.
