Deep Clean After Every Round — A Scottish Links Clubhouse Story

2026-08-28
Case Detail

An 18-hole links course on Scotland's east coast, hosting approximately [XX] groups per day in high season. With sandy terrain and strong coastal wind, club grooves fill with sand and grass debris over a single round — the most common complaint among players.

The Challenge

 No fast, self-service way for players to clean their clubs on return to the clubhouse — only queues for manual wiping;

 Manual cleaning is labour-intensive; caddies and front-of-house staff cannot keep up in peak season, and quality is inconsistent;

 Residual sand accelerates wear on club faces and grips, shortening club life and hurting ball-striking feel.

The Solution Deployed a coin-operated ultrasonic golf club cleaner at the clubhouse bag-drop area: players insert a coin and clean their clubs themselves, with a full set deep-cleaned in 2–3 minutes. Thanks to the swivel casters, the unit can be moved to the 1st-tee area in peak season and rolled back into storage off-season.

Results

 [XX] sets of clubs cleaned per day — players clean on return, any time;

 Ultrasonic cleaning reaches deep into the grooves, noticeably improving face friction and shot consistency;

 Reduced manual club-cleaning workload by approximately [XX]%, freeing caddies and front-of-house staff to focus on guests.
